Overview

Lubrication products are the consumables and application tools that control friction and wear in rolling bearings so they can reach catalogue service life. The category covers greases (a base oil held in a thickener matrix with additives) and the lever or pneumatic grease guns, automatic single-point lubricators, and bulk-filling equipment used to apply them.

Industrial bearing greases are a mineral or synthetic base oil held in a thickener matrix (typically lithium or polyurea for general duty, aluminum complex for high-temperature, calcium sulfonate for wet duty). NLGI consistency grade, dropping point, and base oil viscosity are the three properties most relevant to bearing selection.
